Can Overseas Visitors marry in Australia? *YES!* - combine your tourist visit with the most important day of your life, and spend your honeymoon in the beautiful Olympic city of Sydney. *What are the costs?* The fee for the solemnization of the marriage depends on your special requirements. A quality all-inclusive wedding service will cost about Aus.$550. Please Email me to discuss your requirements and I will send you a comprehensive list of the costs applicable to your situation. *How do I arrange a Wedding?* To arrange a wedding with me, confirm by Email a date, time and place for your marriage, then download and print a copy of the Notice of Intended Marriage in Acrobat .pdf format. *(You can also obtain a copy from your nearest Australian Consulate or Embassy.)* If you cannot read PDF files, download a free viewer from Complete the relevant information and then have your signatures witnessed by an Australian Consulate official or Notary Public. To confirm the arrangements for your marriage, post the completed Notice of Intended Marriage to me, together with the previously arranged booking deposit. You will also need to enclose copies of your documents. *What Documents do you Need ?* For a person born overseas - a birth certificate or a passport issued by a government of an overseas country, showing the date and place of the party's birth will be acceptable. Where a person has been born overseas does not have a birth certificate or a passport issued by the government of an overseas country, a Statutory Declaration will need to be produced. These Statutory Declarations can be prepared with me. *Please note :-* by law a Statutory Declaration is only used where I am satisfied that this is the only option left reasonably available. If you have been previously married, you must include a certified copy of the Final Dissolution of Marriage or Death Certificate. An official at the Australian Embassy or Consulate will certify them for you. *Important !!* Under Australian Law I must see the original copies of your documents before I can solemnize your marriage. You would need to bring them with you for our meeting when you arrive in Australia. *Please note :-* If these documents are in a language other than English you will need to enclose a translation by a certified translator. (there should be one in your local classified telephone directory). The Notice of Intended Marriage must reach me at least one month and one day before the marriage and no more than eighteen months before the marriage as it is only valid for eighteen months after being signed and dated by the celebrant. If there is not enough time to post the Notice and documents, you can Fax them to me at (02) 9427 2096. However, I must see the originals when you arrive in Sydney. *What happens then ?* After I have received these documents I will then write to you confirming the arrangements and include a booklet of words and procedures which contains a large choice of poems, readings and vows for inclusion in your service. When you arrive in Australia prior to your wedding, we can arrange to meet to finalise the documentation for your marriage and to discuss the final arrangements. *Fiance or spouse visas* If you are an overseas resident and are planning to marry an Australian citizen in Australia, you may qualify for a Fiance visa. This does not automatically qualify you for permanent residency status in Australia.
